Brewing Change: Welcoming Our Newest Partner – Kape Lumad

At Cordillera Brew, we believe that every cup of coffee tells a story. It’s more than just a morning ritual—it’s a connection to the land, the people, and the culture behind every bean. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce our newest partnership with Kape Lumad—a social enterprise rooted in the highlands of Bukidnon, Philippines, dedicated to empowering indigenous coffee farmers and preserving cultural heritage through ethical, sustainable coffee production.

Who is Kape Lumad?

Kape Lumad is not your average coffee producer. Based in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, this inspiring initiative works directly with the indigenous Manobo community, helping them reclaim and elevate their role in the local coffee industry. Through training, fair trade practices, and community-driven development, Kape Lumad is cultivating more than just specialty-grade coffee—they're cultivating dignity, identity, and long-term sustainability for the Lumad people.

Their work is focused on one powerful belief: indigenous knowledge and culture are not just worth preserving—they're worth celebrating. And that celebration happens, in part, through every cup of coffee they help produce.

Why This Partnership Matters

Our values at Cordillera Brew have always been clear—support local, elevate quality, and build relationships that matter. Our collaboration with Kape Lumad is a reflection of these values in action.

Together, we aim to:

  • Champion indigenous farmers and provide them a platform to reach wider markets

  • Ensure fair, ethical sourcing while delivering traceable, high-quality beans to conscious consumers

  • Preserve heritage by respecting traditional farming knowledge and storytelling through coffee

  • Raise awareness about the importance of origin, identity, and sustainability in the Philippine coffee landscape

A Coffee Rooted in Culture: Lumad Robusta

Our first release together is the Single Origin Lumad Robusta—a bold, specialty-grade coffee grown in the rich volcanic soils of Pangantucan at high elevation. It’s an expressive brew with tasting notes of dark cacao, toasted nuts, and a touch of smoky molasses. It’s full-bodied and grounding—a coffee that reflects the resilience and richness of the people who grew it.

This release is more than just coffee. It’s a rare, small-batch offering that invites you to experience the flavor of tradition, strength, and solidarity.
